Little Blue Bird, Big Story
Today I’m sharing a very simple little blue bird — truly, elementary at best. But don’t let his tiny feathers fool you… he carries a whole lot of meaning for me.
I’m officially in that season of life where the kids have flown the nest.
(Although I prefer to call myself a bird launcher… it sounds far more powerful and a lot less like I’m sitting alone in a quiet house eating trail mix and wondering why the dishwasher isn’t full anymore.)
Anyway… in this new chapter, I started praying for fresh friendships.
The kind that fit your soul in this stage of life — laughter a little deeper, conversations a little richer, time together a little sweeter.
And wouldn’t you know… the Lord wastes zero time when He’s on a roll.
The very next week, I went to get my highlights freshened up — because we all know gray comes in faster than Amazon Prime — and the woman sitting next to me was an absolute delight. The kind of person you just instantly connect with.
We chatted like old friends…
and then (plot twist!) I learned she likes to watercolor paint.
A friendship match made in heaven — and apparently, in the hair salon.
She’s new to our community and still building her circle, so we decided to paint together. Our first paintings?
These sweet little birds.
So now, this little blue bird isn’t just a doodle — he’s a symbol of an answered prayer, a reminder that God hears the quiet whispers of your heart, and the beginning of a brand-new friendship I get to enjoy every single week.
I’m here on Patreon for that same reason — community.
Creativity.
Connection.
New chapters.
New friends.
And who knows…
your next sweet friendship might just be sitting in the chair next to you at your next hair appointment.
