Bow Practice
Today’s painting session turned into a full-on celebration of bows. Maybe it’s because we have a new granddaughter in the family and tiny bows are instantly heart-melting.
Or maybe it’s all those years of watching my daughter cheer, her ponytail crowned with a ribbon big enough to have its own zip code.
Or maybe — just maybe — it’s because Christmas is tiptoeing closer, and I’ve always believed that a beautifully wrapped package topped with a perfect bow is basically an heirloom. Forget the gift — I’m here for the ribbon.
Either way… bows took over my paper today.
There’s something calming about painting them — the soft loops, the shadows that give them shape, the way they feel nostalgic and feminine all at once. A bow can be sweet, bold, playful, elegant… very much like the women gathered here. 🎀
Today felt like practicing delight.
Practicing the art of slowing down.
Practicing the tiny details that make everyday life feel lovely.
Thanks for creating alongside me in this little corner of cozy creativity. If bows bring back memories for you — baby pictures, childhood gifts, holiday mornings, or cheer uniforms — I’d love to hear them.
And just for fun…
Today’s painting really had me tied up in the best way possible.
